Our Committee for 2019/2020
Dave has recently taken the chair for the first time in February 2020, having been with the charity since 2015.
A resident of Derby, Dave is a retired Rolls Royce engineer, and likes nothing more than getting his hands on a project, such as his fully rebuilt MG or even the re-build of an old RB211 engine in the RR Heritage Museum!
Dave rides a Honda NC750x and is a RoSPA advanced riding graduate.
Andrew, who’s been with DBB since 2015, shares his spare time from his work, driving an LGV for a local food transport company, with his secretary, rider duties and family.
Andrew rides his own BMW R1200R and is a graduate of the IAM organisation.
Sue joined the charity to fill a much-needed role to manage finances in 2017, but still finds time to provide support for fundraising and helping out with delivering the service in one of our cars. Sue has worked in Education for over 20 years supporting students, with a particular interest in maths and IT teaching.
Ian has recently taken on the role of Fleet Manager, having recently retired from his job as a project engineer at Rolls Royce. Ian joined DBB in 2016 and has been a committee member since 2018. Ian is a real motorcycling enthusiast with involvement in both the IAM and RoSPA. He enjoys touring and off-road riding, with recent additions to his own garage, which also includes his dream classic motorcycle, the Honda CB1000R Fireblade.
HR & Training
Emma was an enthusiastic fundraiser with her husband, Ian, and took on the HR-Training role in 2018. Having previously worked in a similar role, Emma brings a very professional approach to new recruits and to the work of the DBB Committee.
Ken is one of a growing number of riders from the north of the county and lives in Chesterfield. Ken joined the group in 2016 and once he’d retired he quickly became one of our prolific volunteers, clocking up 100+ days of volunteering each year. Ken also provides off-duty support to Chesterfield Royal Hospital and plays a significant part in the fundraising effort.
Southern Rep & Newsletter
Craig joined in 2015 and has been a dedicated rider, despite working full time, taking one of his off-work days most weeks to help out. Craig is a car sales executive at a local main dealer and brings his experience from a lengthy automotive career to the work of the committee. Craig enjoys his motorcycle touring on his Honda motorcycle and is can justifiably boast of having the most ‘sorted’ garage anywhere! As a black belt in Taekwondo, we won’t argue with him.
Mark join DBB in 2015 and the Committee in 2016. Continues to work on developing the charity and the service to the NHS.
