Derbyshire Blood Bikes raising awareness at Emergency Services Day – 4th August 2018

The County’s Police and Fire and Rescue Services held their first open-day at the new £10.5m Joint Training Facility at Ripley, Derbyshire. Over 7,000 visitors saw policing and fire and rescue demonstrations as well as enjoying a great family fun day.

Derbyshire Blood Bikes displayed their new BMW R1200RT and Citroen C1 vehicles with hundreds of young (and not so young!) people having a photo-opportunity on board the blood bike.

DBB volunteers, Dave Harvey, Andy Ramsden and Mark Vallis were on hand to explain what they do and answer many questions from the public. Awareness raising is a vital aspect of the work of Derbyshire Blood Bikes and this event has been hailed as a phenomenal PR success for the Emergency Services and the smaller organisations supporting communities across the County.
