‘Ride on Jamie’ appeal gains ground!

The ‘Ride on Jamie’ appeal has reached the half-way milestone, having reaching over £7,700.

The family and friends of Jamie Henshaw, who was a Derbyshire Blood Bike supporter and fundraiser from Ilkeston and who sadly lost his battle with cancer in April, have pledged to put a new blood bike into service with Derbyshire Blood Bikes. That bike will be dedicated to Jamie’s memory and will be a lasting legacy to him. The family hope to achieve this by April 2019, the anniversary of their loss.

Fundraising in the Solstice Challenge has so far raised over £2,500 for the appeal and anyone wishing to, can still donate to that appeal here until the 24th September 2018.

A recent ‘dart-o-thon’ and other fundraising in the New Inn, Ilkeston has recently added over £1250, with more events planned, including a cycle ride from Skegness to Ilkeston on the 25th August and a golf tournament in September.

Derbyshire Blood Bikes are delighted to be able to support the family and friends in their fundraising endeavors.
