The Derbyshire Blood Bikes Solstice Challenge is just two weeks away. The Challenge, watching the sun set in Aberystwith, then riding east to Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, to see the sun rise, hopefully with fine weather, over the weekend 23rd – 24th June. The distance is a little over 300 miles and the participants will be supported by our volunteers from the Blood Bike group.
The organiser, Andy Ramsden, one of our volunteers said, “this is a great opportunity for a social ride with a difference, while raising money for a very worthy charity”.
There are around 25 participants signed up for this event and they hope to raise around £4000 to help keep the charity operating. If you wish to participate, there are a small number of places left on the event.
You can donate directly to Derbyshire Blood Bikes by clicking here .
We also welcome Emma Henshaw and her partner Tony, who are riding this event to raise funds to help Derbyshire Blood Bikes put a fully equipped BMW blood bike on the road, which is to carry the name of Emma’s brother, Jamie, who recently passed away. You can contribute directly to this appeal through the ‘Ride on Jamie’ appeal.
Don’t forget, donating this way attracts an extra 25% gift aid, making your donation go even further.
